Dreaming Architectures

Vanna Barboni, an Italian collagiste invited me to make a work for this exhibition.

I used a photograph of The Hague Passage as a starter for this work and called it:

When The Hague Passage dreams ... She is a Lady

The exhibition was to be seen in the Palazzio Carignano at Torino, Italy from May 10th thru May 31th 2024.

The Great Puzzle

On 28 and 29 oktober 2023 I was a member of a group of six collagists who showed their works during an exhibition in the CultuurHoek at Driebergen
We were inspired bij a quote of Lewis Carroll: 'Who In The World Am I? Ah, That’s The Great Puzzle'.

We used collage as starting point and worked for one year in our own unique way on the series that were shown here.

The works show our fascinations, our inspirations and our processes around this theme and lighted up a puzzle piece to reveil a part of ourselves.

The members of the group were, besides myself, Anne Oldenhuis, Riet WagemansMargreet TomassenLisette Euser en Esther Jacobs.

Our curator during this process was Juliette Pestel.

Imaged Words and Worded Images

At the invitation of Australian artist Terry Reid, I submitted a collage for this exhibition. The exhibition took place at the WordXimage gallery in Maitland, Australia. After this exhibition, the entire collection was donated to the Maitland Regional Art Gallery and is now part of the permanent collection.

For this exhibition, I made a collage, based on a photo of myself aged three. The title is:

"You are not alone, there is the wind setting the small quiet things in motion."

Group exhibition

A special moment in my collage career was the group exhibition I participated in in 2021. For this exhibition, I made three works I had framed for this special occasion by craftswoman Christien van den Oever from C-Lijsten. I was delighted with the result.

This text accompanies the exhibition.

"Anneke Stil, Riet Wagemans and Petra Terhorst, students of the Collage Lab course by visual artist Juliette Pestel, exhibited their mixed media collages on Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Juliette's studio at Westeinde in The Hague. A quote from Dutch writer A. Den Doolaard was our inspiration: 'We lived among miracles, but we did not understand it'."
